Enhanced Reporting and Detailed API Analysis in Evolve: Tracking Third-Party Client Usage and Solution-Specific Interactions

Solution:

Every SAP Data API includes a property called “Category” that should be set according to the solution developed for a specific department or segment. The return on investment (ROI) logged for such a solution stores the category value of the respective solution. By updating the category value from the Evolve user interface (UI), any generated ROI will store the updated category value for that solution.

The category column is available in the API usage of a specific solution and can also be utilized in reports created on ROI tables. This feature allows users to segment their API traffic for internal billing purposes, effectively attributing usage and costs to different departments that utilize the APIs.

In the case of the Digital Access API, the only available option is to use custom fields and promote these fields as Solution Fields. When calling the APIs, users can pass any desired value to these custom fields and leverage them (as solution fields) in the reports. This enables users to obtain the necessary data based on the various values provided within those custom fields.
